PLN (Personal Learning Network)
We also expanded our PLNs in search of different views, greater knowledge, data, and information that could be used in helping us craft a solution to teaching complex thinking. We invited resources that challenged our thinking and included resources that share our same perspective. We used our existing technology resources and added new tools to help us manage and grow our PLN while researching and learning about teaching complex thinking and related information. Twitter, Twitter lists, TwitterBeam, RSS feeds, Hootsuite, Flipboard, word clouds, and social bookmarking tools were some of the tools of choice. We popped holes in our "filter bubble", our "own personal unique universe of information that you live in online" (Pariser, 2010) where needed to include people and/or organizations that provided new ideas and new insights in order to challenge our thinking not only about our wicked problem but in our personal lives as well. |
